Moving low key

I’m not who I used to be

Was feeling lonely

Can’t be around just anybody

I’ve been doing better

That’s the best I can do

Everything isn’t golden

Got a masterpiece in my mind

Aligned with a heart that won’t concede

Belief beyond lip service

Put these words to work and earned it

My soul screaming thru these verses

Imperfect but I know I’m worth it

No pride in what I preach

In bold pursuit of my purpose

Lived too long feeling dead

Had to break through the surface

Weary and weak – I wiped my eyes

Clear and dry – my fear died

Heavy spirts lifted high

No more crying – I survived!

Sometimes they’ll doubt the plan ‘til you follow through – show and prove it

Their perception of you should never dictate your decision

What you do is a reflection of you so be true and trust your intuition

Anyone who’s successful can attest to this kind of resistance

And testify to the resilience it took to keep going and stay committed when

Hit after hit – in the gut, on the chin

Begging you to quit but you ante up and rise again

Gotta go my own way – refuse to listen to what they say

Pave the path, lead in love and drown out all the hate

I won’t settle or surrender – you can find me on the front line

I won’t hide my light any longer – it is time to let it shine
